Green Turtle is founded in Canada. Its Proceptor line of oil separators and grease and solids interceptors is quickly adopted by Canadian companies.
2001
Lisa Simkins joins Green Turtle to process Proceptor orders worldwide. Ms. Simkins is tasked with product design, technical documentation and managing the drafting database.

2002
Green Turtle continues to innovate the Proceptor line including offering double wall vessels, extension collars, frame and cover options, oil coalescing filters and multiple manways
2003
February: Green Turtle's PHIX Gravity Series of wastewater neutralization products and technologies are introduced to the North American market.
- Featuring a flow-through design to maximize efficiency and minimize maintenance, the Phix Gravity Series meets the needs of a broad range of institutional and industrial customers.
March: Green Turtle brings John Walker on board to develop and grow the PHIX and Proceptor product lines. Mr. Walker brings several years of experience managing industrial wastewater treatment systems as well as developing and launching new products in the automotive industry.
2004
April: Roland DuBois is hired as Country Manager for Green Turtle Americas, Ltd. A key part of his mandate is to bring to market the next generation of the Proceptor product line.

Prior to joining Green Turtle, Mr. Dubois worked for Omnova, a major polymer manufacturer as Global Sales and Marketing Manager for their non-wovens market and as U.S. National Sales Manager for their Specialty Division. He has more than a decade of marketing experience in process and water treatment chemicals for heavy industry. |
October: Green Turtle launches the next generation Proceptor, with an elliptical design and streamlined production to keep up with demand.
- The new design receives key IAPMO approval under the Uniform Plumbing Code.
December: Green Turtle expands its sales organization in USA, adding Lou Clendaniel as Territory Manager and Silvano Ferrazzo as Business Development Manager.
- With more than a decade of experience as a sales expert in the plumbing industry, Mr. Clendaniel spearheads the company's expansion into Florida markets.
- Mr. Ferrazzo takes the reigns of new business development within major corporate accounts in the US, leveraging his 25 years in business development for related industries.
2005
May: Green Turtle launches PHIX Cartridge System, its under-the-sink Acid Neutralization solution into US markets.
- The system, which fits directly under the sink, removes the need for a collection tank and is in much demand throughout the US.
December: Green Turtle enhances its Service Team and expands across the mid-Atlantic and the Carolinas.
- Dennis Foley joins the team as the Mid-Atlantic Territory Manager. With 17 years in water treatment chemicals sales, his specialty in industrial accounts is a particular asset.
- John Clark comes onboard as Territory Manager for the Carolinas. A former National Sales Manager for Roadmaster, he quickly grows Green Turtle's business throughout the region.
- Green Turtle's technical services team adds Lynda Smith as Customer Service Manager for Canada and Liz Wooley as Technical Customer Service Manager for the USA
2006
February: Green Turtle expands its sales force into Western Canada.
- Trevor Burns take the position of Western Canada Territory Manager. Mr. Burns is an experienced territory representative with a track record of successfully promoting brands and developing corporate accounts.
May: Green Turtle targets the Great Lakes Region.
- Chuck Linkenheld comes onboard as Territory Manager for the Great Lakes Region. His sales experience in plumbing/irrigation and other product management proves to be a crucial asset.
October: Green Turtle Canada obtains BMEC approval for PHIX Cartridge System. Phix Cartridges are rapidly adopted by major laboratories, hospitals, schools and other customers across Canada.
December: Green Turtle expands its instrumentation offering for Proceptor
- Proceptor customers can now select from a broad range of instrumentation options including point alarms, level monitoring and remote shut-off valve systems.
2007
February: Green Turtle appoints Rob Abernethy, P.Eng, MBA as Manager of Canadian and International Markets.

Mr. Abernethy's background includes the development and launch of several new technologies which created new markets in excess of $1B. He has held senior and executive management positions at companies active in water and wastewater treatment and environmental compliance. He has worked in over 20 countries and marketed Canadian technologies worldwide. |
June: Green Turtle expands its instrumentation offering for PHIX Gravity Series
- PHIX Gravity customers can monitor the pH Level within their neutralization tanks. Systems can include visual and audible alarms as well as data recording.
August: Green Turtle sales coverage now extends to the West Coast of USA.
- Edward Krazel becomes Territory Manager for Northern California. Mr. Krazel is a key asset to the team, with over 20 years sales and management experience in the separation and filtration industry across the Western US and Canada.
November: Green Turtle launches a line of fiberglass Holding Tank systems
These new fiberglass Holding Tanks are used for storing a wide range of liquids where tank durability and a low risk of leakage are prime design criteria. View Press Release
December: Green Turtle strengthens Product Development Team
- Lou Clendaniel has been promoted to Product Manager, Proceptor Line. Mr. Clendaniel will accelerate the innovation cycle for the Proceptor product line
- Greg Cope replaces Mr. Clendaniel in the Florida territory. Experienced in both business development and wastewater pretreatment regulation, he was previously a Sales Manager for major corporate accounts in Florida.
2008
January: Green Turtle adds Engineering Support with appointment of Balreet Dandiwal, B.Eng
- Mr. Daldiwal has joined to Green Turtle after serving for over 4 years with Monteco Research and Development. As a Research Operations Engineer he was instrumental in performance testing and modeling of Green Turtle products.
February: Green Turtle Canada moves to new Facility
- Green Turtle Canada has moved into a new, larger facility in Mississauga, Ontario which was needed to accommodate the growth in both products and customers. This location will now support larger inventories and improved customer service capabilities.
March: Green Turtle introduces Proceptor Solids Interceptor
- The new Solids Interceptor is specifically designed to optimize the removal of solids from wastewater. These units can be used as stand-alone interceptors or upstream of an oil separator or grease interceptor. View Press Release
March: Green Turtle launches PHIX Pac systems
- The PHIX Pac is a new, convenient way for customers to enjoy the benefits of PHIX media in their existing neutralization tanks. The PHIX Pac contains PHIX media that outperforms limestone 5 to 1 in acid neutralization capabilities. View Press Release
April: Green Turtle announces the new Microceptor Under-the-Sink Solids Interceptor
- The new under-the-sink Microceptor solids nterceptor is easily installed directly underneath a commercial kitchen sink. Intercepting coffee grinds is its specialty but it also traps many other solids including hair, and food particles. View Press Release
May: Green Turtle outlines their Under-the-Sink Grease Interceptor Initiative
- Green Turtle announces their strategy to launch the Retroceptor, an under-the-sink grease interceptor that dramatically outperforms conventional “grease traps” in terms of effluent quality and serviceability.
