Current employment opportunity: Country Manager - UK

The Opportunity:

Green Turtle has enjoyed rapid growth in Canada and U.S. and is now expanding into the UK market. We have an immediate need for an enthusiastic, entrepreneurial Country Manager based in the Greater London Urban Area who will be responsible for our wastewater pretreatment business throughout the UK.  We’re looking for self-driven, autonomous, and committed individual to win in the marketplace. 

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Manager of Canadian and International Markets, the main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Taking charge of the start-up of the UK operation
  • General management of the UK operation
  • Conducting a thorough market assessment 
  • Attaining sales and profitability goals while successfully managing an expense budget
  • Developing, coordinating and implementing a sales plan to grow the business in the UK territory
  • Executing a grass roots marketing campaign focused on engineering firms, consultants, government officials, industrial / commercial businesses, and institutional operations
  • Assisting mechanical/civil/environmental engineering consultants as well as commercial, institutional and industrial users in defining scope of work, project proposals, and specifications
  • Networking through related trade associations
  • Following up on proposals/quotes/orders/installations
  • Actively selling and promoting in the territory, with overnight travel approximately 25-40% of the time
  • Communicating local sales and marketing activities, competitive dynamics, and developing industry needs routinely and effectively back to the business

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • University degree is Required (preferably in a technical discipline such as civil, environmental or chemical engineering)
  • Proven success in selling value-added technical or specialty products into a price driven market (such as construction or heavy manufacturing)
  • Proven track record in making cold calls to generate relationships that ultimately lead to sales opportunities
  • Superior time management, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of commercial and institutional wastewater pre-treatment regulations in the UK is highly desirable

Compensation:

Base salary is commensurate with experience, and these positions include a performance-based incentive component
